Liverpool City Council – Subterranean Super-Bin Scheme

The Brief

We aided Liverpool City Council in the development of a suitable subterranean waste area, where expert groundwork solutions were required.

The Challenge

Our team would need to dig holes in very tight spaces in the centre of Liverpool, posing challenges regarding the use of equipment and maintaining safety. We also had to put into place a solution to prevent the hole from collapsing in on itself. Our staff had to make sure that their approach was swift and efficient, ensuring that the public experienced minimal disruption.

The Solution

To dig the holes, our team utilised a thirteen-tonne excavator, which allowed for a quick and time-saving process. Our staff also put underground shoring in place, preventing the sides from caving in to ensure public safety. The resulting holes were thirteen metres deep, much to the satisfaction of the client, who was pleased with our efforts and the professional service that we delivered.
